Your questions answered when it come to how we run fantastic team buildings. FAQ.
The current situation means we can no longer do our in person team building event. Should we just cancel?
Good question. The rules are constantly changing right now and any ‘in person’ event needs to be carefully planned. If the rules suddenly change-making face-to-face events impossible we can either swap over to a virtual event or change the date to a time in the future when we think restrictions will ease. Jambar Team Building offers 16 virtual team building activities and games in Singapore that you can consider as an alternative option. Contact us for more information!
How long should a Team Building Activity last for the Singapore market?
After running thousands of events we have found that for in person team building 1/2 day to 1 day seem to work best.
Where can we go for and indoor team building?
Most indoor events are held in a hotel function rooms or conference centres, we have a large number of contacts in the industry in Singapore at a range of different prices to fit your budget. Alternatively it is possible to hold an indoor team building directly in your office if there is enough space. That will depend on the type of activity chosen.
Where can we go for outdoor teambuilding?
Given the variable nature of the weather in Singapore we recommend a few different specific locations for outdoor team building. These all have a sheltered area on site. This allows us to meet, warm up the team and brief the activity in relative comfort. It also gives us a back up plan in case of inclement weather. Classic locations include Clarke Quay, RWS Sentosa and Gardens by the Bay. However we have held outdoor activities in literally every corner of Singapore so speak to us if you have a specific location in mind and we can probably make it work!
What do we need to wear and bring for team building activities and games?
Firstly if possible, dress comfortably and practically. Whether indoors or outdoors, team building often includes some type of movement or physical activity. Trainers are great for the feet, t-shirt and shorts or comfortable trousers for the rest of the body. For the ladies we advise to avoid skirts of any kind. Other typical items are useful. A jumper if you get cold in air conditioned rooms or a change of t-shirt if your event is an all day event. Mosquito spray and suntan creme if outdoors & Water for hydration. A small rucksack is also good for carrying items around.
How do we decide how many teams?
For most of our team building activities aim for 5-8 pax per team. More than that and sometimes some people don’t participant. Less than 5 per team is doesn’t allow for much bonding!
If I’m organising the event, can i join in the team building or do I need to help?
This is up to you. We typically run the whole show allowing you to join in the team building and have fun with your colleagues. This also allows you to experience the event as intended, however if you wish to watch you can and move freely around the different teams.
How many people can join a team building event at the same time?
For 95% of our clients the answer is you can bring an unlimited amount of people, the more the merrier! We have run many indoor and outdoor team building events between 500-1000pax. As the number gets bigger there are a few considerations that will affect the final design of the program, these often include the exact activity chosen, location, overall budget.
Do you warm up the crowd somehow?
We normally do spend some time with some icebreakers and warmup activities at all our events except if we have been given a very tight timeline. They 100% make a difference to the overall success of the event especially if team are randomised and people are interacting with team members they don’t know very well.
What kind of prizes do you recommend for the winning teams of the Team Building
Small gestures for the top teams are great, for example gift vouchers. However we have found if the prizes are too expensive it distracts people from having fun, to trying to win the prize and can have an adverse affect on the teams. If you have you own prizes you can bring them along and we can help to distribute to the appropriate teams.
How far in advance do i need to book team Building in Singapore?
We have and regularly do arrange an event with less than 1 week’s notice. However we run a lot of events each month and we can’t guarantee you a slot if you have a last minute event. Ideally 2 weeks notice works well for events of up to about 100 pax. If you have a larger event more time is normally required to ensure we can find the right venue.
