Your team has been through a lot. They’re still going, but for how long?
Coping and recovering are not the same thing. Most teams that have been through sustained pressure are doing the former and missing the latter. Answer four questions and we’ll tell you what we think is happening and where we’d start.

Why resilience doesn’t just happen on its own
Teams that have been through sustained pressure rarely come out the other side unaffected. Resilience has to be built deliberately. After 12 years with teams across Singapore and the region, these are the patterns we see most consistently.
Resilience gets confused with endurance. Teams that keep going aren’t necessarily recovering. They’re often just coping, and coping isn’t the same thing.
There’s no space to process what happened. Teams that move straight from one challenge to the next don’t get to integrate what they’ve been through. It accumulates.
The load is uneven. Resilience is never distributed equally, and the unevenness quietly creates friction. The people carrying the most rarely say so.
The team has no shared language for hard times. When things get difficult, people handle it alone rather than together. That isolation makes everything harder.
Recovery isn’t built into how the team operates. Without deliberate recovery, sustained performance leads to quiet depletion that’s hard to reverse.
People feel they can’t show when they’re struggling. A culture that rewards toughness can make it harder to ask for help, which leaves people more isolated than they need to be.
